Reconstructive surgery's primary purpose is to restore natural function or to reconstruct key facial features following trauma or a disfiguring disease process.
The above patient had severe trauma to the right side of her skull resulting in a depressed fracture that left her with a noticeable "dent" in her right temple. Permanent bone filler was used through an endoscopic incision to restore the natural contour.
