Clinic Team

Our clinic team includes front desk coordinators, treatment coordinators, patient care coordinators, and surgery coordinators. We look for new members who have strong experience in the position they are applying for (although it can be from a different field), a passion for who we are and what we do, advanced computer skills, and unparalleled professionalism. We are a tight-knit team of professionals who work very closely together to provide the best patient experience.

Level

  • We have several levels available:

    • 19-hours per week - New grads welcome, but confidence in SPD (sterile processing) strongly preferred.

    • Per diem (independent contractor) work on a mutually agreeable basis - no new grads. Very strong experience required. Must be able to come in and do the job with minimal training.

Typical Schedule 

  • 19-hours per week - Thursday and Friday - full surgery days

  • Per diem

    • Level 1 - commit to a minimum of one case every week

    • Level 2 - commit to a minimum of one full surgery day every month

    • Level 3 - commit to a minimum of two consequential full surgery days every three months

Pay Range

  • 19-hours per week - $25-37 per hour, depending on years of real-world experience in SPD and First Assisting on facial plastic surgery cases. Plus part-time benefits.

  • Per diem - $35-37 per hour. No benefits.

Minimum Requirements

  • 19-hours per week

    • EITHER 1 year of full-time experience in sterile processing, outpatient, or surgical setting OR current and active certification in one of the following: Certified Registered Central Service Tech (CRCST) or Certified Surgical Tech (CST or NCCT) or Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT).

    • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers.

  • Per diem (independent contractor) work on a mutually agreeable basis

    • Must have one of the following: (1) More than 10 years experience as a first assist with SPD experience or (2) Current and active certification as a Certified Surgical Tech (CST or NCCT)

    • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers

    • You must come with the following experience. We do not train on the following for this position.

      • STRONG experience being First Assistant (scrubbing in & assisting surgeon)

      • STRONG experience setting up AND breaking down from surgical cases

      • STRONG experience cleaning & sterilizing instruments

Main Responsibilities

  • Ensure supplies are pulled for the day's surgical case(s)

  • Prepare the operating room for surgery

  • Assist in the operating room (either First Assist or Circulating depending on your training)

  • Break down & clean operating room after surgery

  • Decontaminate instruments using enzymatic soaking solution & ultrasonic cleaner

  • Pack instruments & sets using peel packs, muslin wraps, and rigid trays

  • Sterilize packs using countertop steam autoclave

  • Pull instruments for next day's surgery case

  • Ensure the day's surgery case(s) run smoothly for the surgeon

  • Adhere to AAAHC accreditation standards, including maintaining an insanely clean surgery center

Level

  • 19-hours per week - No new grads. Must be confident in placing IVs and recovering from general anesthesia.

  • Per diem (independent contractor) work on a mutually agreeable basis - No new grads. Very strong experience required. Must be able to come in and do the job with minimal training.

  • 19-hours per week - Thursday and Friday - full surgery days

  • Per diem

    • Level 1 - commit to a minimum of one case every week

  • 19-hours per week - starting range is $45-50 per hour, depending on years of real-world experience in recovering patients from facial plastic surgery cases. Plus part-time benefits.

  • Per diem - $50 per hour. No benefits.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university

  • Current California RN license in good standing

  • Current BLS certification

  • Current ACLS certification

  • Strong experience recovering patients from general anesthesia

  • Strong experience placing IVs and Foley catheters  

  • Excellent customer service skills; ability to deliver the "SKY Experience" to our patients

Main Responsibilities

  • Check in the patient for surgery

  • Place an IV

  • Coordinate getting the patient into the operating room

  • Place a Foley catheter (if required)

  • Help the anesthesiologist and surgeon ready the patient for surgery

  • Circulate during the surgery

  • Recover the patient from anesthesia

  • Discharge the patient

  • Clean the recovery room

  • Document care provided in patient's chart

Level

  • Must have strong experience in providing cosmetic laser treatments.

Typical Schedule 

  • 19-hours per week

Pay Range

  • Starting range is $45-50 per hour, depending on (1) years of real-world experience with the Cutera XEO device, specifically the Limelight IPL, Laser Genesis, YAG hair removal and vein reduction, or similar modalities (2) computer skills and (3) relevant sales / customer service skills.

  • After one month of successfully seeing patients on your own, available pay range is $50-55 per hour.

  • Opportunity for annual raise depending upon performance and comparative pay rates in San Diego.

  • Plus part-time benefits.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university

  • Current California RN license in good standing

  • Strong experience providing cosmetic laser treatments; experience with the Cutera XEO device is strongly preferred 

  • Excellent sales and customer service skills; ability to deliver the "SKY Experience" to our patients

  • Strong computer skills (seriously!)

    • Must be able to type at least 50 WPM

    • Must be comfortable maneuvering a Mac

    • Must be quick on computers and able to troubleshoot basic computer problems

Main Responsibilities

  • Laser Treatments & Sales

    • Prepare supplies and charts for upcoming patient appointments

    • Seat patients for appointments on time

    • Start the patient appointment (intake) by collecting information in a warm and friendly manner

    • Take vitals and before and after photos

    • Perform laser and IPL treatments in a safe manner

    • Present estimates to the patients

    • Recommend skincare

    • Collect payments

    • Ensure the patient medical charts are kept complete and up-to-date

  • Patient Care Coordination

    • Call patients to check in about treatment plans

    • Answer home care questions from laser patients

Level

  • Surgery center internship - Medical students welcome.

  • Clinic internship - Pre-med students welcome.

Typical Schedule 

  • Surgery center internship - A minimum of 4 hours per week on a Thursday or Friday between 6am and 5pm to be agreed upon in advance.

  • Clinical internship - A minimum of 4 hours per week on a Tuesday or Wednesday between 6:45am and 4pm to be agreed upon in advance.

Pay Range

  • Surgery center internship - This is a volunteer position.

  • Clinical internship - Minimum wage for administrative hours, no pay for shadowing hours.

Minimum Requirements

  • Surgery center internship - Must be a current student in good standing at an accredited medical school. Will also consider students in undergrad pursuing the medical field.

  • Clinical internship - Must be a current student in good standing with a pre-med-related degree at an accredited university.

Main Responsibilities

  • Surgery center internship - During surgery cases, you will have the opportunity to observe the OR. When not observing, you will assist with cleaning duties and other administrative tasks.

  • Clinical internship - Half of your time at SKY will be spent performing light administrative/cleaning work. The other half of your time will be spent shadowing clinic appointments.
