  • Bachelor's Degree from accredited university; LVN or RN license strongly preferred
  • Must have excellent, strong experience (at least 1 year full-time) in one of the following: (1) surgery coordination OR (2) selling high-end/elective products/services

    • Scheduling surgeries
    • Coordinating all required paperwork, prescriptions, and special supply orders for surgeries
    • Coordinating anesthesiologist, technologist, and nurse coverage for surgeries

    • Conducting pre-op appointments and first post-op appointments
    • Maintaining cross-training of both Clinic Assistant and Receptionist roles; helping out when needed

  • The best path forward is to move into either the Technologist or PACU Nurse (RN) positions, assuming you have an interest in going back to school.

  • Eventual opportunity to move into leadership position, usually after at least three years in Surgery Coordinator position and assuming you maintain an average score of 5 on at least four sequential quarterly evaluations. CST, SPD or RN license are strongly preferred for potential leadership roles that stem from this position.

Level

  • We have several levels available:
    • 40-hour per week - New grads welcome, but you must have the skills necessary to be cross-trained in the Receptionist and Clinic Assistant positions.
    • 32-hours per week - New grads welcome, but confidence in SPD (sterile processing) strongly preferred. 
    • Per diem (independent contractor) work on a mutually agreeable basis - no new grads. Very strong experience required. Must be able to come in and do the job with minimal training.

Typical Schedule 

  • 40-hour per week - Tuesday through Saturday. Sunday and Monday OFF.
  • 32-hour per week - Wednesday through Saturday. Sunday and Monday and Tuesday OFF.

    • Level 1 - commit to a minimum of one shift every week

Pay Range

  • 40-hour per week - $19-32 per hour, depending on years of real-world experience in SPD and First Assisting on facial plastic surgery cases and on computer skills and ability to be cross-trained. Plus benefits.
  • 32-hours per week - $25-37 per hour, depending on years of real-world experience in SPD and First Assisting on facial plastic surgery cases and on computer skills. Plus benefits.
  • Per diem - $35 per hour. No benefits.

Minimum Requirements

  • 40-hour per week 
    • Current and active certification in one of the following: Certified Registered Central Service Tech (CRCST) or Certified Surgical Tech (CST or NCCT) or Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT).
    • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers.
    • Must have excellent, strong experience (at least 1 year full-time) in one of the following: (1) using your certification (see above), (2) selling high-end/elective products/services or (3) working in a medical practice or medical spa (in any role)
    • Excellent communication and customer service skills
      • Must know and use proper punctuation, spelling and grammar in all written communications
      • Must have a good phone voice
      • Must know professional phone and email etiquette
    • Strong computer skills (seriously!)
      • Must be able to type at least 50 WPM

    • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers.

    • You must come with the following experience. We do not train on the following for this position.
      • STRONG experience being First Assistant (scrubbing in & assisting surgeon)
      • STRONG experience setting up AND breaking down from surgical cases
      • STRONG experience cleaning & sterilizing instruments

Main Responsibilities

  • Ensure supplies are pulled for the day's surgical case(s)
  • Prepare the operating room for surgery
  • Assist in the operating room (either First Assist or Circulating depending on your training)
  • Break down & clean operating room after surgery
  • Decontaminate instruments using enzymatic soaking solution & ultrasonic cleaner
  • Pack instruments & sets using peel packs, muslin wraps, and rigid trays
  • Sterilize packs using countertop steam autoclave
  • Pull instruments for next day's surgery case
  • Ensure the day's surgery case(s) run smoothly for the surgeon
  • Adhere to IMQ accreditation standards, including maintaining an insanely clean surgery center
  • Assist with other duties as needed, such as equipment maintenance and inventory / ordering.
  • 40-hour per week position gets cross-trained on Clinic Assistant and Receptionist roles.

  • Place an IV
  • Coordinate getting the patient into the operating room
  • Place a Foley catheter (if required)
  • Help the anesthesiologist and surgeon ready the patient for surgery
  • Circulate during the surgery
  • Recover the patient from anesthesia
  • Discharge the patient
  • Clean the recovery room
  • Document care provided in patient's chart
  • For the 40-hour per week position: 
    • Conduct pre-op and post-op appointments in clinic
    • Remove stitches, change bandages, remove drains
    • Answer home care questions from surgery patients
    • Cross-train on Surgery Coordinator and CST positions
    • Assist elsewhere in clinic when needed

  • Regular employees are eligible to have dual role of Laser RN position (laser training provided by Dr. Yoo).

  • 16-20 hours per week

Pay Range

  • Starting range is $40-45 per hour, depending on (1) years of real-world experience with the Cutera XEO device, specifically the Limelight IPL, Laser Genesis, YAG hair removal and vein reduction, and Pearl Fractional laser treatments (2) computer skills and (3) relevant sales / customer service skills.
  • After one month of successfully seeing patients on your own, available pay range is $50-55 per hour.

  • You will be asked to do very simple tasks at first, such as cleaning or clerical work
